Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now the countdown begins. This is one of my favorite times of the year. We eat a lot, and we play lots of games. This year Irene got Partini, and it is the BEST!! Seriously this game is so much fun!! I was laughing so hard at one point I could hardly breathe. Can't wait for New Years Eve!!
my friend Jen
The first time we went to church after we moved here, I met one of my very good friends. Well technically I re-met her. Travis was speaking in sacrament, talking about his wife's large family from McLean Virginia. I immediately started listening, wondering who his wife was. I went up to her after church, and when I introduced myself, giving my maiden name and she hers, We both went "OHHH." We had totally gone to girls camp together. We didn't go to the same ward or school, but we were girls camp friends. We started hanging out, and I realized I had made a really good girlfriend. I had a rough first year here in Denver, and Jen was totally there for me. Always taking my kids, visiting me in the hospital, taking me to appointments and so on. Our relationship was a little one sided that first year, but Jen never gave up. Now that I am healthy and happy we have a more balanced friendship. I love Jen, she know me so well. I love her boys, and so do my kids. You are a great friend Jen, and I am so grateful to have you in my life. I just wanted to give a little shout during this thankful season, and let you know I appreciate you.
Girlfriends....
I have been blessed to have amazing girlfriends. I think it is extremely important to have girls nights. I love Adam, he is my everything, but there is nothing like a girlfriend. They know how we feel without hardly any explaining, and more often than not, have felt that same way. Because of my "colorful" life, I isolated myself a lot. I have always had friends, but true friends were rare. I can honestly say I have many true friends now. I am not very good at explaining myself well. I feel and think much more than my tongue, or I guess fingers in this case are able to convey. God truely has blessed me with knowing such wonderful women.
kindred spirit.....aka Brenda
a few of my girls
We went to Stampede for some line dancing classes, and I cannot even begin to explain how much fun we had. I can't wait to go back!! As you can see we also played a little pool. Definately not as good as I used to be, but still fun.
a night out...

For Adam's birthday I got us a room at the Hyatt, and we dropped the kids off at Tiffany's. Thank you Tiffany and Cory!!! We left the kids on Friday afternoon, and had almost a full 24 hours just for us!! It was heaven. We slept all by ourselves for a whole night, and when we woke up we just layed in bed!! We ate our favorite Maggiano's for dinner with Cheesecake Factory for dessert. For breakfast we ate at The Pancake House. No matter how many times I eat there, it amazes me how much food I can put away. I know that this was Adam's birthday, we just happen to like the same places. It is awesome how even though we stayed in the same town, we felt like we were on vacation. No thinking about laundry, dishes, toys to clean up, assemblies to put together. Just hanging out with my best friend in the whole world. Of course when we picked the kids up, they didn't want to go home. They love their cousins and have so much fun with them. When I called to say goodnight and see how things were going, Katie didn't even want to talk to me. She was having too much fun. What more could we ask for? Oh yeah, can we do this again?
Happy Birthday Adam!!
Happy Halloween!!
Halloween is very big in the Whitney family. We have TWO family parties. One is at Grandma's house geared just for kids. The other one is at Jonelle's house for all of us kids. They are a blast. Katie was a fairy princess, Isaac was Thomas, and I am always a cowgirl. Adam is too lame to dress up. ( He wanted to be Indiana Jones, but I wouldn't let him buy a real whip, so he opted to not dress up at all.) It was an awesome night, and so begins the season of fun!! Halloween is just the beginning!! I love my family and all the fun we have!!
