Katie is my little buddy. I must take a lot of pictures, because she is always saying,"you should get a picture of this mom." Today she helped me make her lunch, and I got a picture of it. She always wants to help in the kitchen. (Well, when I actually cook.) She hasn't ever been a very good eater, and one of the suggestions we got was to let her help in the kitchen. It doesn't work for her. Well I guess I can't say that because she has "tasted" a FEW things.
Since Isaac takes naps I get a lot of one on one time with Katie. I love it. She is always saying the funniest things. She really has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh. She likes to say silly things, then say "just teasing!" She has a great imagination too. One day she was asking me about the veins on her wrists. I was trying to explain blood and how it flows through your body in the veins, etc... Our conversation then went like this.
Katie: Will the spider get out if I get cut?
Me: What spider?
Katie: The spider that lives in my tummy.
Me: You don't have a spider in your tummy, who told you that?
Katie: Nobody told me, I just know it. Heavenly Father put it in there.Me: Is it a good spider or a bad spider?
Katie: It's a good spider, it helps me eat my food. And it tickles me.
Me: Are you sure nobody told you that you had a spider in there?
Katie: I just knew. Nobody told me, Mom.(exasperated by now)
This is one of my favorite stories. She was so sweet about it, and really became put out that I kept asking questions. Like I should have already known about spiders in tummy's. She is such a treat to be around. I don't even know how to put into words how special and wonderful she is. Everyone who knows her loves her.
