Julie's, Kami's and my expanding brood

My first friend Emily Barlow Redd ( our kids were not cooperating)

I know it has been a long time, but we have been gone a lot and busy. Plus I was just a little burned out. Over my birthday we went to Midway Utah with my family and had a blast. I didn't take very may pictures, but Tiffany did and posted them on her blog. It was so beautiful in Midway Adam and I would love to live there. We stayed a few extra days and visited some friends which was really fun. We were home for a week and then we were off again, this time to Lake Powell. We went with Adam's family and had way too much fun. Every times I go to Lake Powell, I think it is my favorite vacation. No tv, no phone service, lot's of sun, sand, water, and playing behind the boat. How can you beat that? I got to tube and wakeboard this year!!! WAHOOOO!!! Even if I did take it really easy with both it was fun to play again. I even got to wakeboard with Katie. She was such a trooper. At night we slept on top of the houseboat, and Katie and Isaac loved it. They both got new sleeping bags and loved looking at the stars at night. It was so fun to lay there at night and yell, "night john boy" to janean and derric camping. My kids were fish!! They loved to play in the water, LOVED to ride in the boat and do countless "Cannonballls!!" Good times all around.

Katie also started pre-school this week and is thrilled. I have loved having one on one time with Isaac.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONNY!!!!

Today is OUR birthday. I have a wonderful twin brother Jonny. He lives in California, and I haven't seen him in 2 years. It has been 4 years since we were together on our birthday. I really miss my brother. Growing up I never realized how special being a twin is. I always had a friend my age to play with. I always had a brother there to look out for me. (And look out for me he did.) Although, since usually he was the more obediant child, I could not get away with certain things. Not once did he rat me out, even if he didn't approve of what I was doing. We are very different, but I have a love for him that I don't for any of my other siblings. I shared a womb with him, and we grew up together, literally.
One of my favorite stories of us as little kids is that when we would wake up we would act like we hadn't seen each other in years. We would yell each others names and run and hug each other. Also, my mom says she had a dream when she was pregnant. We were sitting in the crib and the little girl was standing up talking to everyone passing by, while the little boy was sitting quietly playing with his toys. I might also add that she didn't know she was having a boy and a girl. This is the epitomy of me and Jonny. I was loud about getting what I wanted, and he did things quietly.( for the same, if not better results) I love you Jonny, and miss you. I am so proud of you for serving our country. Happy Birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUBY!!

one of my favorites

In all her glorious chubbiness!!

Where to begin with miss Ruby. She is so CHUBBY! I love her thighs! Of course that isn't what I love most. I love that when she sees me she wants me to pick her up, then she nuzzles into my shoulder. She is so sweet, loving and loud. She knows what she wants and lets you know all about it. She is so ready to be one of the big kids, following them around laughing right along with them. One of my favorite days was when Sadie had a soccer game and my parents were here. I took Isaac home to nap, and brought Ruby with me to get her out of the sun. I had so much fun with her. She ended up having a huge blowout, and I had to give her a bath. Not an easy feat with all of those rolls! After she bathed I painted her toenails, and tried to do her hair. She was so good for me, and I loved the one on one with her. It reminded me on when Sadie was little and I would paint her nails. I love this little girl, and am so blessed to live near my sister.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COEN AND CIENA!!

Coco in his birthday hat

Grandma and Ciena (she LOVES her grandma)

the cutest train cake

We celebrated the twins birthday while they were here last weekend. They are so much fun, it is crazy. Ciena is such a girl, in all the good ways. She has the sweetest smile, and is so happy. Coen is such a little flirt, I just fell for this kid. He has this little impish grin, and you just know he is going to be a handful. It is amazing to see how different they are, each with their own distinct little personality. You can't not just love them. Happy Birthday little buddies!!!

More than fun....

This weekend was awesome. We played outside, hung out and ate A LOT. I totally schooled Jonelle and Jenn in the slip'n'slide races. Don't let them tell you different. The kids all loved having Dresden and the twins here. Those babies are beyond being cute. Whenever we have someone in town we all hang out as much as possible. I love it. We really have so much fun as a family. The adults just as much as the kids. I love that my kids best friends are their cousins.

crazy fun weekend

Seriously???

they love their Daddy

4th of July

lighting sparklers

We had a great independance day. The Whitney's do love a good party, and so it wasn't just one day of celebration, it was a whole weekend. Isaac decided when his first sparkler went out he wanted to touch it. He burned his little fingers and was pretty sad. Other than that it was a beautiful night.
