On katie's birthday we took her to the american girl store. She had been wanting a doll for a while, and was so excited. We looked and looked, and when she finally decided... the store was out of her doll. We had to order it, and she was so sad. Even though it was her birthday, they didn't have the doll she wanted, and she had to go home empty handed....she didn't cry. She got big tears in her eyes, and said "that's ok". That doll was all we were getting her for a present. She didn't even complain, and I was so proud of her. The store ordered her doll, and said it would come in a couple of weeks. When it came, she was so happy. I was so happy for her. She is getting so big, and is such a wonderful girl. She astounds me daily with her sweetness. Her capacity to love, and to share that love, is beautiful to see.
Christmas Day
Christmas Eve, part 2
We always open PJs on Christmas Eve, and a family game. Then we play and hang out until bed. So quiet and fun. Maybe not so quiet, but very laid back. This year we got Hi Ho Cherry-O. I love my little family, and how much fun we have together.
