Happy Birthday Dad!!!

with my dad on Father's Day

one of my favorite's of Dad and Katie (we were waiting at Chuy's, yum)

Let me start by saying that my Dad and I are very much alike. In all the good ways and some bad, but mostly the good. These similarities make for some very interesting conversations. We can seriously butt heads, but we are very close. He has always made me feel very special. He will be the first to tell you I am the cause for most of his grey hairs. I think they make him look more handsome, so good for me. One of his most repeated sayings to me growing up was, " I will always love you, no matter what." And he did, no matter what I did, he was always there for me. I could always go to my parents.

I love how my children know my Dad, and love him. Whenever Katie wants ice cream she has to tell me how to do it right. Holding her hand higher than her head, she says,"make it bigger, bigger just like Papa did. He had SO much ice cream." Let me just say that my Dad was left at home with Katie alone, and is NOT supposed to be eating ice cream. He knows now that she can't keep a secret. I love you Dad!!!

Happy Birthday Amanda!!!

Amanda is married to my twin brother, and she is perfect for him. They are perfect for each other. One of my favorite memories of Amanda is the night I had Katie. She was there for me all night long. She was my sister support. I love Amanda, and am so grateful she is part of our family.

some family pics

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Utah. I got them from Diane, whose camera is awesome and I want one. Seriously. I want a camera like hers, I can't believe the difference it makes.

Diane took some family pictures of us in Midway.
It was the most beautiful spot.

What Your Sleeping Position Says
You have a passion for everything - including sleeping.
Outgoing and brash, you tend to still shock those who know you well.
You tend to be selfish. You are the most likely type to take over the whole bed.
You gravitate toward comfort and don't like extreme situations.

If you don't get enough sleep, you are: In a very bad mood

It's hard to sleep next to you because: You hog the covers.

OK,this is so me.
Happy Birthday Tiffany!!!

Tiffany is my only sister and my best friend. She is always there for me. She is great at telling me what I need to hear, and balancing it with what I want to hear. I love you Tiffany, and couldn't have asked for a better sister or friend. Happy Birthday!!!

Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!!!!!!!

Since Adam has been traveling during the week, the kids have gotten a little more clingy, especially Isaac. I am not exagerating when I say that he says "Mommy" probably a thousand times a day. No Joke. I love Isaac, don't get me wrong. I love being a mom. But, it's not just how many times he says it, it's how he says it. I don't even know how to explain it. It's like he is trying to go to the bathroom at the same time. Sometimes, especially in the car, I will just start saying his name back to him. Now being a two year old, this doesn't bug him he just plays along thinking it's a game. Katie on the other hand does not like it. She will say, " I do not want to play this game!" When Adam comes home on the weekends, I tell Isaac to say daddy instead. He just gets frustrated and says mommy louder. I keep trying to tell myself I am lucky that I get to be called Mommy , that he wants to talk to me at all. One of these days he will want to call me by my first name. I love Isaac, he is the chubbiest little sweetheart. This morning he woke me up by kissing me on the cheek and telling me good morning. How sweet is that? He always wants a kiss if he gets an ouchie, and he always tells me he loves me and gives me hugs. These things and many more make up for the excessive mommy thing.

My first friend Emily Barlow Redd ( our kids were not cooperating)

I know it has been a long time, but we have been gone a lot and busy. Plus I was just a little burned out. Over my birthday we went to Midway Utah with my family and had a blast. I didn't take very may pictures, but Tiffany did and posted them on her blog. It was so beautiful in Midway Adam and I would love to live there. We stayed a few extra days and visited some friends which was really fun. We were home for a week and then we were off again, this time to Lake Powell. We went with Adam's family and had way too much fun. Every times I go to Lake Powell, I think it is my favorite vacation. No tv, no phone service, lot's of sun, sand, water, and playing behind the boat. How can you beat that? I got to tube and wakeboard this year!!! WAHOOOO!!! Even if I did take it really easy with both it was fun to play again. I even got to wakeboard with Katie. She was such a trooper. At night we slept on top of the houseboat, and Katie and Isaac loved it. They both got new sleeping bags and loved looking at the stars at night. It was so fun to lay there at night and yell, "night john boy" to janean and derric camping. My kids were fish!! They loved to play in the water, LOVED to ride in the boat and do countless "Cannonballls!!" Good times all around.

Katie also started pre-school this week and is thrilled. I have loved having one on one time with Isaac.
